"In Eymoutiers, formerly a centre for tanning, known as Cité Pélaude, you can visit the old houses on the banks of the Vienne, the 12th century Romanesque church, the premises dedicated to Paul Rebeyrolle, a famous painter, the Mineral museum (guided tours of the town available on request). Nearby is Lake Vassivière, one of the largest lakes in France, covering 2470 acres, containing 106 million m³ of fresh water and 45km of lakeside and beaches to explore. Not forgetting hiking and biking, tennis, canoeing and swimming. "
